In essence, uzima means "full of life."
 
The Swahili word, “Uzima” (oo-ZEE-mah) has many English translations- life, wellbeing, wholeness, vitality.
Embarking on the journey that is pregnancy, birth and postpartum is to pursue the creation of a new life and do so in a way that promotes wellbeing, wholeness, and vitality.
My goal as a doula is to encourage birthing people to realize that they deserve their best birth and their best version of uzima, whatever that may look like for you.
